3rd week of September 2025

3rd week of September is done and dusted Things are continuing well on the farm with the last of the calves being born and silage being made and some lovely sunny days too - as the saying goes "if its going to rain it might as well be a nice day" Ive finished off a few biggish projects which is very satisfying - firstly the Snow and Ashes Shawl - I bought the yarn specifically for this a couple of years ago at the Bendigo Sheep and Wool show - so it was good to get this one ticked off. I have enough yarn leftover to make the matching mitts, so stay tuned!
I also made a crochet bag - now Im not the worlds best crocheter but I can do granny squares and this was really that with a few joins and a handle
ANd finally the circle appliqued cushion was finished as well! This was such a fun project to do and I do love doing hand applique and slow stitching quilting
Ive finished the physical book of The Royal Windsor Secret by Christine Wells. This was a really good read - not fabulous but good. Its the story of Cleo who is brought up in Egypt (not enough stuff about Egypt in this book for my liking I might add) and she is rumoured to be the love child of Edward VII and she doesnt know exactly who her mother is. She goes on the hunt to find out the truth of this and also to find her mother and also interacts with Edward and Wallis Simpson (as my mum would call her That Woman) Theres a bit of historical stuff and also fiction intertwined which made for interesting reading. Its probably more of a comfort read and a good palate cleanser for me - 4 stars.
