Almost the end of another month! The weather is starting to cool down a bit so that should "in theory" mean more time inside and more time to get stuff done! We will see how that plays out Ive been continuing to work through my ufo's (unfinished objects) and I actually sold a few kits during the week that, although I still really like will realistically never get around to - and what a freeing feeling that is I did however dig out this small embroidery kit and frame and get that done and its super cute isn't it? I'll have to find a ribbon to hang it up with - not sure where but it will be hung somewhere.  It's a hugs n kisses kit from a year or two ago. Ive also been chipping away at the grey crocheted blanket and Im getting there - just a couple of squares to go and then all the joining up - thankfully Ive been sewing in the ends as I go. Ive also got back to sock knitting (but gently as my wrists are still certainly not up to speed) so hopefully by next wee

Feels like this week has just flown by! The weather has been amazing and Ive spent a lot of time out in the garden and it's looking pretty good if I do say so myself -  who says you cant reuse wood chips from the calf pen!!! And yes I like salvias LOL  On the crafty finishing department - not a lot to show as Ive been talking it easy but I did finish the english paper pieced table runner which Im pretty happy with.  To be honest when I started it I probably didnt have the paper piecing skills but now that Ive done a bit it was quite straight forward. I also finished a test knit hat for a friend but Im not sure if I can share the pic of that as yet - so stay tuned! Reading wise I finished a book on my kindle - it was recommended by a friend (thanks Anne!) and the best way to describe it is its the grown up version of Peter Pan - its a bit dark in places but a pretty good read - Id give it 4 out of 5 stars but definitely not for kids! Short and sweet this week - thanks for keeping u

Well that was Easter done and dusted and we are currently enjoying having Aimee, Matt and their family here with us.  We went and watched Maddison play her first netball game for White Hills - and luckily they played at Leitchville so just down the road.  She did well and her energy amazes me but then she's quite a few years younger than me LOL They only lost by 2 goals so it was  great effort for a new team. Ive just looked at my hopeful of finishing list from last week and I did get a bit done - Ive made a couple of the grey blanket squares so should get that finished this week.   I DID finish the place mats for Gary and I - and we've been using them too! I used up some leftovers from a quilt I made and I really like how the fabric pieces work together - here's a real live actual picture of them being used. Guess which one is mine? And Garys? I also finished a physical book "The Embroidered Book" by Kate Heartfield.  Its a historical story with a twist - its th

Ive decided that April will be the month for finishing off things so Ive been sorting through my craft stuff and finding the things to finish.  It includes (but not all sadly!!)! - crochet grey blanket (I have 6 squares to go!) - english paper pieced playing with paper blocks (there are 3 Ive done most of 1) - placemats x 2 (cut out and mostly pieced together) And a few kits Id like to get made up as well - one for making soap and the other for a roped basket Also three pairs of socks Ive started! Oh and another crocheted blanket - baby dots and a shawl Id like to make to Well thats a start at least and I can assure you there are plenty of other things on the "to do" list But I do have one finish which Im really proud of - I named March as Mosaic month and I Finally got round to completing the mosaic coasters and tray I got as kits.  Technically not finished until April as I need do get some paint for the finishing of the tray.  But here they are in their glory and I love th

Well thats the first 3 months of the year gone!  I feel like Ive been spasmodically productive - but to be fair there's been a lot going on.  Thankfully our new staff (Hi Hamish and Manda) are now here and working with us so life has got that little bit easier - except we have started calving so that creates plenty of busyness too! I did manage a knitting finish though! This cute hat which is the Baa-ble hat and I used an alternate chart thats available for it with border collies on it - I suspect this will be going to Queensland for them to all fight over up there :) March was also to be mosaics month - and I did get most of it done but I havent done the painting around the edges so Ill hopefully get that done in the next day or two and share with you next week - watch this space! Reading wise I finished the audio book of The Oysterville Sewing Circle by Susan Wings.  It didnt have a lot about actual sewing in it - but there was some design.  It was also at times a tough listen
