March crafting
OK for March I challenged myself to
- be kind to myself
- do things that give me joy
- destash/give away a few things
- learn how to journal
I think I can tick these all off - being kind to myself and giving me joy - Ive been really enjoying attending Ladies Bootcamp at my local gym and also at the same place going to yoga. Its been lovely to have that time for me and to see what I am able to do! Also bonus Im getting a bit fitter.
Destashing and giving away - 6 bags of various things to the op shop and Ive also gifted a big bag of sock yarn leftovers which feels great.
Ive also learnt a few different ways how to journal - Im not that good at doing on a daily basis but Im learning to - Let That Go!!!! Ill journal when I feel like it and/or remember to.
I know Ive already posted the reading that I finished but not the crafting - so buckle up and Ill show you my progress.
Firstly I finished a quilt - its the snowball quilt and I bought the kit of fabric and pattern from Nicki when she had Honeysuckle Patchwork - sadly this shop is no longer open and I do miss it!
I havent done a lot of curve piecing in the past but feeling much more confident with it and I really enjoyed making this quilt. Only challenge I had was with the "random" placing of blocks which I struggle with - I do like order LOL
I also finished a huge crochet project - the beach walk blanket. It was such a huge and lovely project to work on and I just love it - and Im super glad I wove the ends in as I went
And finally a project thats been sitting around for over a year - an embroidery sampler which you are supposed to work on one technique a day - of course I didnt do that and completed the whole thing in a week but learnt a lot and the project had great support with it as it had paper instructions as well as a you tube link to each stitch
And finally one of the many Clever Poppy kits I have to make up - this one is a confident sampler one - again I learnt a few new techniques which I enjoyed
Pretty happy with all of that as March was a busy month - Ive taken on the role as Chair at Northern District Community Health service and that has been a lot of phone calls, learnings and meetings and also we have started calving and sowing seed in paddocks so not a quiet month at all
I hope you enjoy this update!
