2024 - July 29 - August 4

Watching the Olympics is continuing and isnt Australia doing well? Ive shed several tears watching some aussies win - especially Saya in the BMX racing (what an awesome story she has) and many of the swimming races. And lets not forget Jess Fox! Ive also been quite productive myself! Firstly I finished this super cute set of hat and a cowl. The yarn was from Louie and Lola and was sold to raise money for breastcancer awareness. The kit came with the amazing pom pom and the clip on details on each of them. Im really pleased with how they came out.
I also made this hat too from a kit from the wooly thistle in england - the pattern is called tiny boats and Im pleased to say I knitted on it while watching Jess Fox!
I also finished two books - the first one a physical book - The Godmothers by Monica Mcinerney
This is the story of Eliza who is raised by her single mother Jeannie who dies in unfortunate circumstances. She has two doting godmothers - Maxie and Olivia who try and make the world a great place for her. After being made redundant in her job, she travels to scotland to attend a wedding and also to hopefully find out the identity of her father. Monica's writing as always is engaging and just the right amount of detail. 5 stars! I also finally finished the borrowed world series - book 11
A billionaire has taken over as the US president and given out special repeaters so that people can have power again - however even with power restored society is still a mess. This has been an interesting series to listen to and certainly has had me thinking - 3 stars out of 5 but 4 stars for the whole series. I also spent some time going through all the books in my "to read" pile and there is probably close to 100!!!! Ive managed to remove 30 at least from that pile as they no longer appeal. Gosh it feels good - and I recommend it Until next week...........
