third week of March 2026
After finishing nothing last week - this week has been stellar!
Firstly a pair of socks - this was a kit I bought a few years ago and was a fundraiser to support breast cancer research and support
The pattern is Hope adn Sunsine socks and the yarn is from Louie and Lola yarns.
And then another pair of socks as well!
These are the Gaiano socks and the yarn I used was Maximoo Yarns Luxury sock and was gifted to me by a fellow knitter from Ravelry who lives in Canada - its a beautiful yarn to work with.
And finally - not socks - the Ankers Summer Shirt which I knit for myself
Ive made this pattern before and have worn that top (in blue) a lot so wanted a white one as well
I used Papyrus yarn and I think Ill get a lot of wear from this.
As I said a very successful week - and no I didnt knit everything this week (that would be impossible) they were all at various stages and just happened to all finish in this one week.
And I must admit its nice to not have anything on the needles half finished - very satisfying.
And now to reading -
The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab
First book read on my new Kobo reader!
Its originally set in the 1700's with Adeline (known as Addie throughout the book) who has a desire to live forever and makes a deal with the devil to do so.
The result of this is that anyone she meets, forgets her very quickly which is not the deal she thought she had made.
The story then goes back and forth throughout her life and in the present when she meets Henry and everything changes.
Its so well written and really hooks you in and I didnt want to get to the end but I was worried that it would have a sad ending when in fact it had the ending it needed to have. 5 stars for me and the Kobo reader was great to use as you can read in bed at night while Gary slept!
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas
Rereading (well listening to this) via audible.
In the second book in the series we see Fayre becoming a bit more feisty and a bit more crafty
We begin to see the different sides of both Tamlin and Rhysand and also many of the other characters
Id forgotten so much of this it was almost like a fresh read and I really enjoyed it
5 stars of course
So a super productive week - and we have also started calving for autumn - heres a pic of the first two girls
