first week of March 2026
The months and weeks and days are flying by and here we are in March!
Ive got a lot to show you as I think ive forgotten to show you some things!
Firstly Ive finished this sashiko table runner that I started when I was in Queensland for over a month awaiting Ollies birth - and that was two years ago. I needed to get this finished and I have. Id also forgotten how soothing it is doing a stitching project like this - it was my early morning hand stitching project and I just loved working on it
Ive also completed yet another pair of socks (and is this where I admit that I own way too many skeins of sock yarn and also way too many sock patterns I want to make up) The Pattern is Surprise socks designed Brigit Ka and the yarn I used was Faking Sanity Persuasion sock yarn which was gifted to me by a knitting friend from Canada.
I also attended another card making with Juliana and I really enjoyed it - I may have bought some supplies to make some more.
Who knew there was a craft I hadnt dabbled in as yet!
Ive also done well so far in March in the reading dept
Daughter of the Mists by Elena Collins
Ive had this book on audible to read for quite some time and I think it might have been a free one.
The book moves between Roman Britain and modern Britain and is the story of Hanna, recently returned to Norfolk from teaching in China, and Brea, an Iceni girl enslaved by Romans. Hanna discovers Roman artifacts on her mother’s boyfriend’s farm and tries to readjust to life back in Norfolk, while Brea, attempting to survive being a slave in a Roman villa, seeks to protect her friends and find her parents, whom she was separated from during a Roman attack, as Boudicca and the Iceni grow more disenchanted. I found this story interesting as it involved events I was unaware of and of course it involved two time periods which I quite enjoyed
It was a bit fluffy at times but still a good read/listen - 3 stars for me
Also on audio
Relisten as I already read as a physical book.
This is a fantasy novel set in Prythian and is the story of a human - Feyre - who becomes captured by a High Lord - Tamlin.
She also becomes entangled with Rhysand who is the High Lord of the Nigh court
Id forgotten so much of this story and really enjoyed revisiting it
Still 5 stars
OK so I think thats me up to date!!!
