Another productive week! Firstly I completed the Quilt along quilt Ive been making with a group of friends on ravelry

Ill be donating this to Women of Worth which is a group dedicated to help support women who are victims of human trafficking It was a fun quilt to make and is a lot brighter in real life
Secondly I finished these socks - the pattern is Basgaith Socks (aka fourth wing) and I used love and speckles yarn that Ive had in my stash for quite some time. The pattern is great and the yarn was beautiful to knit with. I think Ill be keeping these for myself! On the reading front Firstly a physical book finish
My hubby suggested I read this book and I wasnt sure but I really enjoyed it! Its the story of Hannah Fischer who is born in Germany and is living next door to Albert Einstein This awakens her passion for physics and is all she wants to do, however due to circumstances she ends up with a secretarial degree Due to the war she becomes the secretary to some of the worst in the third reich and the fictional accounts of what she sees and experiences are really interesting and 5 stars from me

As the hot weather is starting to arrive (well it is summer) Ive been inside a bit more -and also its school holidays so not quite so much driving around. Ive been doing a few dear jane blocks - filling in some gaps so I can join "bits" together - feels like I am getting somewhere. This photo is the top left section of the quilt The second picture is for a class I am doing at Quilt University - an online quilting class...Hawaiian Applique. 1st week of September 2025

As the days go by.........yes its September! On the farm we are three quarters of the way through calving and the last group of "girls" to calve are quite spread out so it might take a while Excitingly we baled 210 rolls of silage this last week - so thats feed stored away for another day and another 120 odd bales from a block in town. Its so good to have this stored away as the grass doesnt last forever and cows still need to be fed. Fingers crossed we get some good rains this week so that the paddocks will be watered from above and not from irrigation. This week I also managed to finish a project thats taken me a month or two to complete - but Ive enjoyed every step of it. The pattern is the Tussie Mussie cushion and is designed by Emma Jean Jansen. I also bought the kit to make the cushion from her and just love the fabrics in it. 3rd week of August 2025

And here we are in the third week of august - yep still some very cold mornings but lovely sunshine most days - sometimes with a cold breeze sometimes not We are still calviing here on the farm and are not quite half way but getting there - the bulls are in with the herd so hopefully doing what bulls do (if you know what I mean!) I have been working away on a few things - firstly I finished a pair of socks! The pattern is zigzag sock and I used some lovely self striping yarn from Ash and Eve Designs I also enjoyed the latest art journalling class run by Jenni Finn out of her Hey Sunday store - this one was all about ripping paper and creating almost 3 d like images - lots of fun And I finished the online quilting challenge wall hanging quilt and I love it - so bright and cheery and I really enjoyed the thinking of what to make for each round - highly recommend this sort of challenge to not just use up fabrics but also to get your thinking!
