3rd week of July 2025

Three weeks into july! Again another busy week but some fun things too! On Friday Megan and I went to the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show which is an annual event held, yes, in Bendigo - its huge lots of vendors selling yarny type things and also some farming stuff too and LOTS of people We had a good look around which was fun and I bought a few things - this is probably the most restrained Ive ever been at the show and its not from lack of lovely things to buy, its just that I have so much here and it needs to be used or moved on
The item on the left is a wood turned seam flattener for sewing - you roll it on the seams instead of using an iron - Ive never had one so thought it would be a fun thing to try, the dark green yarn (which is the one thing I had in mind I wanted to buy) is to make a pair of socks for me and the three lighter green skeins are a linen blend for a top for me. The black box at the top is a mystery gift for a friend so not showing that. I also bought some jerky and some leather work gloves for Gary. It was also nice to meet a fellow knitter from my online group on Ravelry. Its also fun to wear something that you made from yarn yourself - heres me in my Zweig short sleeved top which got lots of compliments
Ive finished a pair of socks - these are the Colour Palette socks and they were a fun and easy knit - the ends werent fun to weave in though. The yarn I used came from America from someone I follow online who no longer dyes yarn - Dana of Unwind and it was nice to find the right project to use up all the lovely bright colours.
And I finished a book on my Kindle -
Book 3 of the Zodiac Academy book series called The Reckoning It was an ok read but I dont think Ill continue this series at the moment - its becoming quite vampiry which I dont usually like and pretty dark. I have plenty of other books in my "to read" pile so I might leave this series for now - although I need to download some more books on my Kindle as its handy to read in bed at night as I dont need the light on to read and it doesnt wake up Gary (not that he complains when I read in bed but I care that I might interupt his sleep) and this book is probably a low 3 star read for me Well thats week 3 done and dusted!
