Well once again I had (I think) a quite productive week and also got to spend time at the local football/netball watching our grandddaughter Mia play netball. She didnt win but she sure did play well and with a great attitude too! Also got to hang out with grandson Jake as well and he spent a lot (and I mean a lot) of time picking up rubbish around the football ground - he really doesnt like to see it laying around. What a cutie he is! It was a perfect sunny day and we all really enjoyed ourselves I was really pleased to finally finish the Owl and Hare Hollow Block of the month quilt. Its been a lot of work with lots of hand piecing and applique but I must admit Ive really enjoyed working on it and the variety that it brought with it. I quilted it myself as well and Im super happy with it Now that has finished it gives me more time to concentrate on the Flower pots quilt and Ill update you on that next week when I hope to have most of the centre completed I also finished another of...

ITs now mid may and the days are definately getting colder! Weve finally lit our wood fire and are so very glad of the warmth that it gives - so much better than the split system which although it does warm it doesnt warm as well and...well...I dont like being cold! So all that firewood Gary and I have collected will now get used and hes thinking maybe we should go and get a few more loads when we can - Im not against that at all as usually we run out of wood half or three quarters of the way through winter and we have to go and try and find some around the farm. We've always said we would build up a good pile that would easily carry us through with some to spare and this may well be the year to do it Ive also being trying to sort through all the projects I have in my "to make" pile and came across several things as I think I told you last week. I bought several learn how to embroider kits in covid and Ive now finally completed the first one. It was reasonably easy to...

Firstly - happy anniversary to Gary and I - we've been married for 18 years now and amazingly we still like each other! To celebrate (in a way) we went for a drive to Moulamein as neither of us had ever really been there. Its a quaint old town and very different type of country side (mainly rice) but we were both surprised by the size of the town and the nice feel of it. Found a take away and got some lunch which we sat and ate on the river bank which was lovely. We do like our Sunday drives and it was nice didnt have to do firewood this time! The other "event" that happened this week was Mothers Day and I had been getting more and more nervous about the day as it got closer. I so miss Mum and she loved Mothers Day. Every Mothers Day I would either take mum out somewhere or bring here here to the farm and have cake and a cuppa. If she came here she would always say she would have black tea as I was the only one who knew how to make it the way she liked. In the vill...

And yet again Im late to post what I did last week - and you know what - I have No Idea what i did last week! Weve been super busy on the farm getting the last of the seed in to be watered before the end of the irrigation season on the 15th of May. I think we are the most organised we have ever been but it does still seem like a rush to the finish line. We've had some beautiful sunny days but the mornings and evenings are a little fresh - still havent lit the wood heater yet as the split system is keeping up with things atm Still no finishes on the crafting front - but I have prepped the final blocks for the Owl and Hare Hollow block of the month quilt - so Ill work on the handsewing parts of the blocks while watching tv at night. Reading wise I finished the fourth book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas - Queen of Shadows Again loved loved loved this book The pace doesnt stop I love how Celaena (who is now Aelin) is becoming such a badass and fighter. She is not afr...

And once again I am reporting my weeks activities late - I really dont know where the days and time go! One minute Im getting up out of bed to start the day and the next minute its bed time again - does anyone else feel like that? In cute family news - Mr cutie Ollie is two months old and honestly it doesnt get much cuter than this does it? Cant wait to get back to queensland to see him! On the farm we have been getting ready for out biannual dairy audit - which means lots of paperwork to be done and cleaning too so not much fun at all On the crafting side of things I havent finished anything else but still chipping away at the Owl and Hare Hollow Block of the month quilt - I think I have 10 or so blocks to go - and then join them all together, quilt and bind etc - hardly anything at all really LOL On the reading front - still listening to the same audio book as last week so no review there but I have finished the third book in the Heir of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas - Heir of Fire....
