Magic yarn ball socks

I participated in a swap over on ravelry called magic yarn ball.
The idea is you choose a yarn and a pattern for your partner and then you rewind the ball and while doing that you include little treats and gifts in the ball so that as you knit the gifts fall out.  It's a great idea and really keeps you knitting so that you can find out what the next treat is.
The yarn I was gifted was a knit picks yarn and lovely to work with and the pattern was charade socks. There were plenty of gifts in my ball but the best was the cow ear muffs.
If the group organises this swap again I'll certainly be signing up as it was great fun.

My Mum Mum was a quiet achiever, going through life with all its ups and downs with little complaining and always enjoyed the escape of a good book. My Mum was lovely – she cared so much about her family and so loved to hear about all our goings on Although in later life she had health issues – she faced them all bravely and worked to find out the best way to live her best life and bore them with dignity. Her life was one of change and she changed and adapted with the changes. Pamela Blanche Geoghegan was born in Bendigo on the 30th December 1938 (yes she just missed her birthday this year) to loving parents Stanley Norman Geoghegan and Emily Ada Blanche Pattinson. The year previously her brother Brian Stanley was born but he died shortly after birth. When she was only 6 years old her father Stan passed away at the age of 30 and for the next 13 years it was just Pam and her mother Blanche living together and they got on famously as Mum would say. The 4th of March 2024 is now a very special day for our family - it was the day Ollie (Oliver) Michael Sterling arrived! There was a lot of waiting for his arrival and Sarah was 11 days overdue I had been in Airlie Beach awaiting his happy arrival for 2 weeks - Gary and Aimee came for a week but unfortunately missed out on his arrived by a couple of days. Oh he is such a cute little dude! Kris, Sarah, Evie and Jessie are totally besotted with him as are we all! So enjoy the cute pics below and excuse me my lack of blog posting!

a special finish october 7- october 13

Ive had a very special finish and its a quilt that I love, I wish I didnt have to make but Im so glad that I have When mum went to heaven, the online quilting group that I am a member of - Southern Cross Quilters had the members make me heart blocks in rememberance of my dear mum. I asked for rainbow colours for the hearts as one of mums favorite songs was Somewhere Over the Rainbow. This is the result and its it lovely..... Its taken me a while to be able to sew them together and to quilt and bind it - I needed to wait for the right time Yes it was sad but also so very healing and it is one very special quilt that will hold a very special place in my heart Thank you to each and every one of the SCQuilters who made me a block Your love shines through Also PS the fabric I used as the borders and the backing fabrics were mums as was the label panel - that felt right
