BLESSED SPEEDY

Isn't this the most gorgeous tea cup? As part of eating and drinking much more healthy stuff I've cut right back to only having one cup of coffee a day - at around 4pm and so far so good.  Did have a few withdrawals at the start but now I'm getting in the swing of it. As I'm not drinking as much coffee I'm very slowly working my way through my very huge supply of herbal teas.  And I've taken a real liking to drinking it from this very gorgeous cup.  No I don't use a saucer.  It's from t2 and I'm pretty sure Sarah gave it to me.  It's a lovely size and lovely to drink from and is a nice distraction from the missing coffee.

Gary, my Mum and I travelled to Bendigo yesterday to watch my daughter Sarah graduate from university. It doesnt seem that long ago that I was posting that she was heading off to university - and here she is a graduate - Bachelor of Visual Arts from Latrobe University in Bendigo.....she is now a "qualified" photographer! She has already obtained photography work - part time on the weekends working for vision portraits which will hopefully give her a good grounding in photographing people and families and will lead to bigger and better things. Well done Sarah - we are proud of what you have achieved!

  Dear All, Well here we are already at the end of 2012, and hasn’t this year just flown? Unfortunately this year we have had lots of down moments and sadness, my stepfather died in August which was a real shock although he hadn’t been well for some time. We also had to send our beloved cat, Speedy, to heaven which was also sad as she had been with us for 15 years. We have had trouble with cattle being sick, dying of blout and various other “incidents” as well as Dianne being extremely sick and being hospitalised for several days and Gary being injured by a cow!   BUT..... There were some highs as well – we welcomed to our family two new granddaughters – Holly and Daryl’s first child, Addison and Aimee and Jason’s daughter, Maddison. They are both gorgeous! Sarah has finished university (studying photography) and Megan has completed year 12 (as well as taking an alternative “schoolies” trip to Cambodia). Number 1 granddaughter, Mia gra...

Spent the day in Bendigo yesterday at a meeting, having more test and most importantly catchin up with Aimee and Sarah as I wont see them for their birthdays on Wednesday and of course to see Mia and Maddison.  Hard to believe how much Maddison is growing - and she is trying to crawl ! And of course she loves her big sister Mia very much

Today I was lucky enough to have a quick visit from Sarah.  She came and cleaned, vaccummed, took me shopping and even made me lasagna for tea.  She also brought me a new cup to enjoy my cuppa in.  Was lovely to see her but she was gone too quickly! Also I've been busy working on the redwork stitchery you can see in this piccy - its a christmas wreath which I started for last Christmas but it never got far.  Maybe that is one of the good things about having to "rest" - some things might actually get finished!

Hows this for an oldie photo? It was taken in Christmas 2005 before Gary and I were married - look how thin I was then (not now though.....lol) Megan would have been 11, Aimee 18 and Sarah 14. My how we change in just a few short years PLUS because we werent married I hadnt taken over the sun room with my sewing stuff and various other bits of furniture so it was just a huge room with a pool table and a table tennis table.  The white chairs are the outdoor setting Gary bought me for Christmas that year and we had brought it inside to eat Christmas tea on.  Oh the memories............

On Sunday we had a lovely visit from both my granddaughter Mia and my daughter Sarah - the purpose??? Putting up the christmas tree of course. BUT other things happened too! Yes the tree was put up and Mia put the star on the top of the Christmas tree (for some reason everyone fights over who gets to put the star on the tree - so when Mia was born we decided that she would put the star on every year - not sure what we will do when grandchild number two comes along next year!) Mia also had a bath and had a great time being a fool with a sieve on her head! And finally Sarah painted her toe nails - mainly cos Sarah had just painted mine and Mia wanted to look like Nanna. Thanks girls for a lovely day that went way too quickly!

Sorry I was trying to be good about posting to my blog and would have hoped to post some photos of a quilt top Ive been working at .... BUT.... as they say - life has got in the way! My lovely husband Gary has managed to tear a muscle in his upper leg. Caused by an incident with a neighbours sons absolutely mad yearling bull calf - but I wont bore you with the details.  I will just say that it was a genuine accident and the calf is gone. Spent yesterday going to Bendigo for an ultrasound on his leg as it was the closest place we could get in. Managed to quickly see Sarah for maybe 10 minutes tops. So here I am at 5.43 am writing lists on jobs that have to be done today - and already Im daunted. Some of the jobs I can do myself - I already have a whole list of my own stuff that needs to be done (and sadly no quilting and knitting are NOT on it) Gary is on crutches and can barely walk - so therefore cant really do much - hopefully I can somehow if not do the rest - at least org...

Well we are now officially a family with only one child living at home (Megan).  Sarah has now officially moved to Bendigo to her new home - we helped her on Monday. Here she is opening the door!!! And for those that know Sarah well here is a "shocking" box - only ONE box for shoes and handbags???????????????????????????
