first and second weeks of May

Well with me rarely finishing much at the moment I have decided to just post fortnightly as I might have a bit more to report The reason you are not seeing many finishes is because I am working on several quilts at once - and they are mostly hand pieced so the progress is slow Firstly we have the Green Tea and Sweet Beans quilt (pattern by Jenn Kingwell) and I got the kit from Amitie
And then we have the "Is Di mad" hexagon project! I cut the pieces of a layer cake in 4s to get 5 inch back ground squares and then Im appliquing 5/8# hexis onto it. Crazy? Yep 1176 hexis are needed and yes Ive cut them all but I must admit its a really calming and soothing project to work on But it wont be quick!
And yes my scrap basket does look considerably smaller after I cut all those hexagons!!!!! And then if that wasnt crazy enough Ive started and english paper pieced patchwork at the crosses!
I must admit with the new set up for my crafting areas its very condusive for sitting and stitching and Im really enjoying it! Reading wise Ive finished two books Firstly as a physical book
The Wildest Dreams Bookshop by Gracie Page My daughter sarah lent me this book and it was an easy cute read and she wasnt wrong It tells the story of Anna who is taking a break before uni and goes to Cornwall to help her Aunt in her bookshop. Yes theres a love interest or two and a famous author An easy ready and 3 and a half stars for me And finally on audio via audible
The third book in the series continues the story of Diana (a witch) and Matthew (a vampire) They travel back to Elizabethan England to help in their search for Ashmole 782. "If you truly love someone, you will cherish what they despise most about themselves" Its a five star listen for me however I paid the price of not listening to it straight after book 2! And finally the weather has become cooler but it also means I can take some pretty amazing photos particularly before sun rise = enjoy!
