Last week of October 2025

Ok where did the last 10 months go? Im too scared to blink as it will soon be Christmas Heres what I achieved in the last week of October 2025
Im really enjoying the weekly art classes Jenni Finn is holding and Im slowly getting a bit braver This is a painting I did at home following what we learnt in class - its not perfect but Im really happy with the sky and clouds in this one! I also went to a class in bendigo at the patchwork shop there - the class was taught by my friend Lynne and it was a slow stitched bowl - its not finished yet and a bit tricky to photograph atm so I will post that when its done
I also went to another class with Barb Smith (woodcutters daughter) and did another Christmas fabric painting - this was so much fun! Excuse the big shadow across the pic from my camera!
And heres the other painting class I did with Jenni - again fun techniques and something different No yarn stuff finished - but its close!!!!! Now onto the reading side of things
The House of Memories by Monica McInerney I loved this! I'm giving it 4.5 stars. I’ve always enjoyed Monica McInerney books, although I did feel that some of them were rather light and fluffy and somewhat predictable, but this one seems to have stepped up a notch. At times this book is quite sad and thought provoking but really well thought through Its the story of Ella, a 30-something year old bereaved mother, running from painful memories, Aiden, her Irish husband, to Felix, their 20-month old son, Jess, Ella’s 22 year old, very young and immature and excitable half-sister and Lucas, Ella’s British uncle, amongst others. Its about family dynamics, blended families and some hurt and pain and misunderstanding Very thought provoking!
House of Sky and Breath (Crescent city 2) by Sarah J Maas House of Sky and Breath is the second installment in the Crescent City series. Just like the first one, this book left me sitting in a very emotional puddle. In this, you are still watching Bryce and Hunt dance around one another. Yes, their feeling, chemistry, and sexual tension are completely obvious to spot. They also still have to deal with certain people throughout this as well. Whether it's a known foe, her dear old dad, or some new ones. Things definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. We also take some trips down memory lane. Mostly when it comes to Danika because she was just a bad ass wolf. It was kind of heartbreaking, and a little annoying, that Bryce kept complaining that she didn't really know her best friend. We get it - people keep secrets. It shouldn't even surprise us when a new secret comes out to play anymore. There's also a crap ton of twists, turns, and betrayals thrown our way. Cant wait to read book 3 And yep 5 stars Well thats October done and dusted!
