cutest angel on christmas eve

Our church had a Christmas Eve service - and guess who was the cutest angel there - Mia of course! The playgroup kids sang a few carols - Mia really liked doing Away in a Manger - complete with actions.

Ive had a very special finish and its a quilt that I love, I wish I didnt have to make but Im so glad that I have When mum went to heaven, the online quilting group that I am a member of - Southern Cross Quilters had the members make me heart blocks in rememberance of my dear mum. I asked for rainbow colours for the hearts as one of mums favorite songs was Somewhere Over the Rainbow. This is the result and its it lovely..... Its taken me a while to be able to sew them together and to quilt and bind it - I needed to wait for the right time Yes it was sad but also so very healing and it is one very special quilt that will hold a very special place in my heart Thank you to each and every one of the SCQuilters who made me a block Your love shines through Also PS the fabric I used as the borders and the backing fabrics were mums as was the label panel - that felt right

January 1 2025 - the year of trust

Here we are at the start of a new year - and I know for many its a day of making intentions and promises and looking ahead. The last couple of years have been incredibly hard for me with loss, sadness and disappointment. I am looking forward though and hoping for a better 2025 and I really feel my word for 2025 is trust. When I googled (as you do) the meaning of trust this came up The 4 elements of trust (Competency, Consistency, Integrity, and Compassion) are dependent on the way we behave - both individually and collectively. These behaviors come from innate traits that determine how we, as human beings, respond and/or act in any situation. I found this here - I think for me and what Im thinking at the moment - I need to trust myself, my beliefs, my thoughts and those around me who love and care for me. 3rd week of August 2025

And here we are in the third week of august - yep still some very cold mornings but lovely sunshine most days - sometimes with a cold breeze sometimes not We are still calviing here on the farm and are not quite half way but getting there - the bulls are in with the herd so hopefully doing what bulls do (if you know what I mean!) I have been working away on a few things - firstly I finished a pair of socks! The pattern is zigzag sock and I used some lovely self striping yarn from Ash and Eve Designs I also enjoyed the latest art journalling class run by Jenni Finn out of her Hey Sunday store - this one was all about ripping paper and creating almost 3 d like images - lots of fun And I finished the online quilting challenge wall hanging quilt and I love it - so bright and cheery and I really enjoyed the thinking of what to make for each round - highly recommend this sort of challenge to not just use up fabrics but also to get your thinking!
